Elegant handmade 1960s Danish Modern wall lights by “VITRIKA” model “Aladdin”. It is a block of thick solid glass mounted on a shiny brass plate. The items are handmade so small differences in color and form are to be expected. Labelled on brass mount. Great original condition. Wear is consistent with age and use. Great original condition with no chips or breaks to the glass.
About the manufacturer: “VITRIKA” was founded in the North Zealand region of Denmark a few years after the Second World War in 1948. The three founders – a designer, a craftsman and a salesman – came up with the name Vitrika by putting together the Danish words “Vi Tre Kan”, which translates directly to “We Three Can”. The craftsmanship and build quality is superb with sturdy brass and copper fixtures which is one of the reasons that their lights still look amazing even 50 to 60 years after they were manufactured.
