An Austrian Biedermeier period walnut console table from the 19th century, with single drawer, scrolling legs, lion paw feet, low shelf and carved rosettes. Created in Austria during the Biedermeier period, this walnut console table features a rectangular top sitting above an elegant apron with cavetto accent, concealing a single drawer. Fitted with an ornate brass escutcheon, the drawer presents a dovetail construction revealing the piece’s age. The console is raised on four legs, designed as large volutes in the front and pilasters in the back. The volutes are accented with gilded rosettes and lion paw feet, while the pilasters are adorned with subtle ebonized details. The ensemble is resting on a low in-curving shelf. The console’s back is, of course, unfinished, it will therefore have to be placed against a wall. With its elegant Biedermeier lines, beautiful walnut veneer and delicate accents, this Austrian console table from the 19th century will bring a touch of undeniable refinement to any home, whether placed in a living room, bedroom or hallway.
