Born in Southeastern Europe in the first half of the 19th century, most likely along the Mediterranean in present day Albania, hand-crafted of warm rich mahogany with attractive grain patterns, having a solid wood case fitted with a single drawer with dovetail joinery, chamfer carved pull, and ornate double eagle head escutcheon, over tambour door, above cupboard door, flanked by tapering squared pillars adorned with classical gilt metal female caryatid mounts and sculptural bronze feet, rising on shaped plinth base, topped with a “Noir Belge” black marble slab.
