The Cristallerie de Baccarat was founded in 1816 by the Aimé-Gabriel d’Artigues financier and industrialist (1773-1848) on the site of the old Sainte-Anne glassware.
In 1764, King Louis XV had given authorization to the bishop of Metz, Louis-Joseph de Montmorency-Laval, to create a glassware on his land in Baccarat.
As early as 1824, during the national exhibition at the Louvre, Baccarat presented magnificent crystal chandeliers and recurrence during universal exhibitions of the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the XXth.
For the past 200 years, Baccarat has been unluminating national palaces, royal residences, presidential residences, rich mansions around the world, theaters, cathedrals in France and Latin America.
