Each outlying circle in red includes a gilt iconographic narrative element of a story using animals and people. A wonderful and masterful tapestry of red, gold, and light rose colored patterns circles around the painted scene. The figures of Cupid and Psyche stand in contrast to a wonderfully atmospheric pastoral scene. The figures and scenes are excellently lighted and have appropriate visual contrast.
There are a few markings on the back. The most visible mark is a number 13245. The other two marks are faded and illegible.
In excellent condition. This would make a great feature in any dining room, living room, or kitchen.
