A very fine quality Rosewood & inlaid brass Campaign writing desk box, circa 1830.
The box made from the finest figured rosewood and inlaid with brass in a foliate design, the writing box with campaign recessed handles on each side, the box has the original functioning lock and a key. The box opens to reveal a writing slope inlaid with a beautiful tooled and gilded Moroccan leather writing surface, the slope is hinged and both sides open to a storage reservoir. The writing box also has a fitted interior with a pen tray and storage to the underside and the original glass inkwell and several other storage areas.
