Fabulous Murano glass table lamp. It was produced by master Walter Furlan in the 1980s using the Straight Filigree technique. The execution of this technique testifies to the artistic ability of master Furlan, a man who did not lack character. Filigree is associated with the magic of the Murano furnaces. Filigree glass consists of rods of colored glass that are arranged in a parallel fashion over the mass of glowing glass that has been rounded on the Magisso. The invention of filigree dates back to Roman times but the Venetians took it to the highest levels of refinement in the 1500s. It represents one of the main techniques and types of glasswork perfected by the Venetians that testifies to the mercantile genius of that city. Ideal above a table to illuminate a corner of the room. dimensions: total h 65 cm – maximum width 39 cm.
